The safety and security of all our Fairgoers, Volunteers, and staff is number one on our list of priorities. In cooperation with Cape Girardeau Police, Cape County Sheriff’s Department, Missouri State Highway Patrol, and Cape Girardeau Fire Department the following safety measures are in place for the 2026 Fair and beyond:

• Weapons of any kind are not permitted. You will be asked to return them to a safe place.
• Clothing with objectionable material including obscene language or graphics will not be admitted.
• Fairgoers 15 years and younger must be accompanied by an adult at least 21. The adult may accompany more than one youth but must remain accessible during their stay at the fair.
• Fairgoers must use a clear bag to hold their personal items. Clear bags not to exceed 12” x 6” x 12”. One gallon clear plastic freezer bags work well. Diaper bags (with a child present) and necessary medical bags are permitted, however are subject to inspection. NO LARGE PURSES OR BAGS permitted. Small clutch bags not to exceed 4 ½ by 6 ½ may be carried as well. Clear back packs are acceptable.
• All fairgoers will enter through full body scanners as well as being subject to search in some cases.
• Each entry gate will have a character cutout at that gate. Your phone camera photo taken at entry time would help in locating any separated youngster.
• Fair gates will close for entries at 9 pm each day. A no re-entry policy is in place.
• No wrist bands or hand stamps will be used. Each entry is a stand alone entry and subject to the standard entry gate fee and security checks. Season pass holders are permitted multiple entry times prior to 9 pm.
