In cooperation with the Cape Girardeau Police Department, the SEMO District Fair is stepping up security this year to help ensure the safety of our fairgoers. We are choosing to increase security out of an abundance of caution. As fair planners, it’s our job to work with law enforcement to help keep people safe for a positive experience at the fair. For the first time in its history, fairgoers may be scanned by metal detecting devices before entering the Fairgrounds. There will be metal detecting devices at the entry gates.

Weapons of any kind are prohibited on the Fair Grounds including concealed weapons. Security scanning will reveal these weapons. You will not be allowed on the fairgrounds while in possession of prohibited items.

As you plan your visit, you may want to arrive a little earlier as it might take a bit longer than usual to get in to the fair grounds.

Your patience and understanding are appreciated.

We have two areas for vendor displays: Inside the main A.C. Brase Arena Building as well as outside on the fairgrounds in general. Applications for vendor space are available here. Instructions for submitting will be on the application. Please note submitted application does not guarantee vendor space. You’ll be contacted if your applicated is accepted.

The box seat packages are available for purchase by both corporate and individual entities. Each box package includes 8 tickets for each ticketed show during the annual fair. You may contact the fair office to check availability as they are limited. Reserved table seating is also available for the four nights of stage entertainment. They do not include motorsports.

Competitive exhibits may be entered online prior to the annual fair by using the FAIR ENTRY BOOK process located here. Non-livestock entries will be accepted beginning at 5pm Friday September 8 and again Saturday September 9 beginning at 8am (and closing at 11am) in both the A.C. Brase Arena for open classes as well as in the 4-H Exhibit Hall for those entry classes.

Animals for exhibit begin arriving Saturday, September 9, and will remain on display and for show through Monday September 11. Animals that have shown early in the week may have gone home, but additional species and breeds will arrive for show and display beginning Wednesday, September 13 through Saturday, September 16. Tuesday is a transition day. More Information
