The safety and security of all our Fairgoers, Volunteers, and Staff remains our number one priority. In cooperation with Cape Girardeau Police, Cape County Sheriff’s Department, Missouri State Highway Patrol, and Cape Girardeau Fire Department, we have implemented a series of enhanced safety measures designed to provide a safe, enjoyable, and family-friendly experience for everyone attending the 2026 Fair and for years to come.
We encourage all guests to review the following policies before arriving at the fairgrounds:
Weapons Prohibited
Weapons of any kind are not permitted. Guests found carrying weapons will be asked to return them to a safe and secure location before entering.
Appropriate Attire Required
Clothing displaying objectionable material, including obscene language or graphics, will not be permitted.
Youth Supervision Policy
Fairgoers age 15 and younger must be accompanied by an adult who is at least 21 years old. One adult may accompany multiple youths but must remain accessible and responsible for them throughout their visit.
Clear Bag Policy
To help expedite entry and enhance security, all fairgoers must use clear bags for personal belongings.
Approved bags include:
- Clear bags not exceeding 12″ x 6″ x 12″
- One-gallon clear plastic freezer bags
- Clear backpacks
- Small clutch bags not exceeding 4½” x 6½”
Exceptions:
- Diaper bags (when accompanied by a child)
- Necessary medical bags
Please note that all exempt bags are subject to inspection. Large purses and non-clear bags are not permitted.
Enhanced Security Screening
All guests entering the fairgrounds will pass through full-body scanners. In some cases, additional searches may be conducted to ensure the safety of everyone attending.
Child Safety Assistance
Each entry gate will feature a unique character cutout. Parents and guardians are encouraged to take a photo of their child near the character cutout when entering the fairgrounds. This can be a helpful tool if a youngster becomes separated from their group.
Gate Entry Times
Fair entry gates will close at 9 p.m. daily. Guests should plan accordingly, as no entries will be permitted after that time.
No Re-Entry Policy
Once a guest leaves the fairgrounds, re-entry will not be permitted.
Wristbands and Hand Stamps
The fair does not use wristbands or hand stamps for admission. Each entry is considered a separate admission and is subject to the standard gate fee and security screening procedures.
Season Pass Holders may enter and exit multiple times throughout the day, provided all entries occur before the 9 p.m. gate closure and are subject to applicable security checks.
Thank You for Your Cooperation
These policies are designed to create a secure, welcoming, and enjoyable environment for all visitors. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we work together with our local law enforcement and emergency service partners to ensure a safe and successful 2026 Fair.
We look forward to seeing you at the fair!
